***Pre-Requisites: MUST ATTEND: “Fundamentals of Equity: Exploring Equity and Cultural Responsiveness” and “Dimensions of Equity in Education” before attending this training.*** This package contains materials that explore values as an element of culture. Educators and Educational Organizations will be asked to reflect on their values and to consider the connection between values, equity, and the provision of services for students with disabilities. The package also contains tools for exploring values with students and families to foster cross-cultural exchanges between families and Educational Organizations. Session Objectives: Educators and EO staff will use family engagement surveys and resources to improve parental involvement. Educators and EO staff will understand and value the roles of parents, families, and students with special needs in special educational processes. By leveraging student cultures and values in teaching, learning & classroom management systems, EOs will experience a reduction in suspension and misclassification/over-classification of students.
