The WestMAC Coaches Group is made up of district coaches who have attended at least 10 hours of START training and have chosen to continue on as a resource in their building/district as a coach. This group meets four times per year to expand our knowledge of evidence-based practices, share resources and collaborate on how to build greater capacity to support students with ASD in the county.
The MAISD is a strong regional education service agency serving the public schools of Muskegon and parts of Oceana, Ottawa, and Newaygo counties.

Lisa Bailey is an Autism Spectrum Disorder Consultant for the MAISD. Her background in the classroom includes teaching general education kindergarten, Moderately Cognitively Impaired K-2, Early Childhood Special Education, and providing Infant-Toddler MMSE services in homes and communities. Lisa completed her undergraduate work at Alma College, earned her Master’s in Early Childhood Developmental Delays at Grand Valley State University, and completed her Autism Endorsement at Michigan State University. Lisa's passion is supporting staff to understand Autism, learn and apply evidence based practices, build teams who can problem solve around challenges, and support all students in thriving in the areas of independence, engagement, and social skills.
Missy Post is an Autism Spectrum Disorder Consultant at the MAISD. Prior to this role, she was a special education teacher at Fruitport Community Schools. Missy has taught at the elementary and secondary level, worked in ASD, SXI, MOCI, co-taught and general education classrooms, along with some work with Early On. She earned both her Bachelor's degree and her M.A., Ed from Central Michigan University. Missy provides coaching support to local district teams and training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, START, and Mindfulness.
