This team-focused learning opportunity will provide information on preventing violence in the school and assessing the risk of a student carrying out a violent act. School and/or district teams will be introduced to a protocol used to assess the risk of student violence following a threat. Nearly half of the day will involve practicing the protocol so teams leave with the capacity to use the tool. Mr. Brad Banasik, a legal representative with the Michigan Association of School Boards will be present at the end of the day to answer relevant questions regarding this difficult and complex topic.

This training is designed for team attendance. Teams must include a building administrator as the protocol starts with administrative decision making. Additional training dates will be planned if your team is unable to attend this first date.
