Details

Add+VantageMR® Course 2 -As part of the MAISD Coaching model, we will be offering an AVMR® specific coaching support. This will include 8, two hour sessions of virtual professional development beyond Course 1 that extends teacher knowledge of place value, multi-digit addition and subtraction, and multiplication and division strategies.

 

Participants will engage in synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities. After completing this course teachers are able to confidently administer all five assessments (course 1 & 2) and determine a student profile to guide day-to-day support in such a way that the teacher has a clear picture of the student's current understanding of mathematical concepts.

Facilitator

Carrie Carlson worked in the elementary classroom setting for 27 years before joining the MAISD as a Mathematics Coach. She spent most of her career in the Reeths-Puffer School District as a classroom teacher before transitioning to the role of Math Interventionist. During her time as a math interventionist, she has done extensive work in learning and implementing Math Recovery instructional strategies. Carrie obtained her BA from Central Michigan University and her MA from Western Michigan University.
