Volunteer Information:

Vacation Bible School at the Cathedral of Christ the King has been a successful program thanks to the hands and hearts of many wonderful volunteers. We prayerfully ask that you consider joining our team of helpers. Those adults who commit to helping as a Station Leader or Crew Leader for the full week will receive a $60 registration discount as well as a VBS TShirt.

[Please note: We need at least one adult for every five children who attend Vacation Bible School. Children may be placed on waiting lists until we get enough adult volunteers to enable us to run a safe and successful program for all the children who attend.]

Volunteer Roles include:

Stations Leaders: Adults who will teach from leader manuals and show God's love to the children attending our program. This may include leading Bible Stories, Music, and/or Games or Video Sessions tied to the theme of the day.
Crew Leaders: Adults and/or Teen Agers who guide the children through various activity stations, facilitate discussions, and generally join in our VBS fun. (service hours are available for our teen volunteers)

Snack Helpers: Adults and/or Teen Agers who will assist in preparing and serving the Daily MountainTop Treats

Photographer: Spend about an hour each day taking pictures of the students and putting them into a Powerpoint presentation for the end of the day recap.

Volunteers working with children in the Archdiocese of Atlanta must complete a required background check.

IMPORTANT: NEW Adult volunteers (and those needing to re-certify) are now required to complete a 3 hour in-person Safe Environment program Protecting God's Children prior to volunteering with children. Please refer to the Archdiocese Website for the required Volunteer forms as well as to register for the 3 hour training. Required forms must be returned to  by May 15th, and training completed by June 3rd  to be considered as a volunteer (no exceptions).

Assumption of the Risk Relating to COVID-19

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person to person through respiratory droplets when an infected individual coughs, sneezes or speaks. As a result, government agencies at all levels and federal, state and local health agencies recommend social distancing and have placed limits on the congregation of groups of individuals.

The Cathedral of Christ the King has put preventative measures in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, the Cathedral of Christ the King  cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending activities on the campus of the Cathedral of Christ the King could increase your risk and that of your children for contracting COVID-19.

While the Cathedral of Christ the King will make all reasonable efforts to lower the risk of COVID-19 exposure and spread on our campus, the Cathedral of Christ the King  is unable to provide any guarantee that students or their families will not be exposed to or infected by COVID-19. By enrolling your child(ren) in and attending our Parish School of Religion (PSR), you acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that you, your child(ren) and or other family members may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19.

It is expected that staff, volunteers, students and other school family members will follow the preventative measures and guidelines implemented the Cathedral of Christ the King  including not coming to the campus if demonstrating any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
