The DOE will be hosting two P-Credit courses this fall on implementing the citywide instructional expectations for 2012-13 which focus on revising a unit to align to the Common Core Learning Standards.
One course will focus on aligning a mathematics unit, the other on aligning a literacy unit. These hands-on courses introduce the Common Core Learning Standards, teach participants a protocol for aligning tasks to the Common Core and ensuring their rigor, go through how to upload a task to Acuity Performance Assessment and Rubric Builder tool, and provide participants with strategies for planning and implementing cohesive and rigorous instructional and assessment tasks throughout a unit. We encourage teams from the same school to attend. Participants may not sign up for more than one course, as material will overlap.
