This event combines two workshops, Supervising Successful Performance and Workplace Conversations: Maximizing Results. Please note the workshop will last until approximately 3pm. Add employee coaching to your supervisory tool belt! An effective coach offers managers and supervisors leadership opportunities through developing their employees while promoting a positive, creative working environment. This workshop utilizes discussion and case studies to closely examine the role of the supervisor as a coach and provides a coaching model for supervisors to use for improving employee performance. As a result of Supervising Successful Performance, you will: • Identify and apply how “coaching” through supervision is instrumental in improving employee performance • Increase your awareness of resources and proactive steps, informally and formally, that are available to improve performance Practice coaching methods to help guide your employees through those tough development conversations. Building on material from Supervising Successful Performance, this workshop explores methods to successfully conduct a performance improvement conversation. You will assess your competency level through the Coaching Skills Inventory, develop your performance conversation skills through a seven step model, and engage in discussion and role-play taken from university-specific scenarios. This workshop is ideal for supervisors and managers.
